The Atlantic Festival, which marks the beginning of the summer season in Madeira, is an event that consists of a diverse set of cultural initiatives distributed throughout the month of June, with special emphasis on the pyromusical shows, the Atlantic Roots Festival and the Regional Arts Week.
This festival sets the beginning of the summer season in Madeira and includes a miscellaneous of initiatives which extend throughout the month of June: the Madeira Music Festival, the Regional Arts Week and musical fireworks shows. These nightly shows combine fireworks and music, and occur on the pier at Pontinha (Port of Funchal) at 10.30pm on all four Saturdays of the month – the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.
Pyromusical concerts are held on the four consecutive Saturdays in June at 10:30am on the pier outside Pontinha. These marvelous and thrilling performances, lasting about 20 minutes each, combine fireworks and music into a unique experience for tourists and locals, to be held June 9, 16, 23 and 30.
In these shows, companies will compete for a trophy awarded by public vote. Voting can be done through the Internet and boxes located in strategic locations of the city of Funchal (City Pier – show day, La Vie, Marina Shopping, Av. Arriaga Tourist Office).
Once again, Madeira was able to incorporate an attractive and fun venue in a month, in this case the month of June, transforming Madeiran capital and offering visitors a series of unforgettable concerts and shows. A wow factor, not only because of their artistic and musical quality, but also because of the magical atmosphere they provide.
